With the recent burst of spring weather across much of the Northeast, many of us are eager for the season to fully arrive. However, we’re not quite out of the woods yet (so to speak). Before shifting all of our attention to the outside of our homes, it’s a good idea to take one last look indoors. Here are a few maintenance tips you can tackle before the ground finally thaws for good.

• Declutter: Take this opportunity to clean, organize, and donate items you no longer need.

• Safety Check: Inspect washing machine hoses for cracks or signs of wear, and make sure your sump pump is working properly.

• Ventilation: Reverse your ceiling fans to run counterclockwise, which helps move air downward and improve circulation.
